Young Entrepreneurs:

Young Entrepreneurs Event – L.K.G

Objectives:

  • Inculcate financial literacy.

  • Prepare for roles and responsibilities whilst dealing with money.

  • Learn important life skills like developing self-confidence, creativity, good social values.

The teacher demonstrated how one starts a business according to what interests them the most. Through a brain-storming session, students discussed the kind of business they would like to have.

On the 30th of September, we had ‘Young Entrepreneur Day’.

Students had displayed the items on a table, as creatively as they wanted, and gave a name to their stall. So, we had stalls named Khambati Collections, Mufaddal Stationery, Burhani Collections, etc. Some students had also put up food stalls- a sandwich stall, Mulla’s Café, etc. A price tag was also attached to the items.

The process of buying and selling took place when their family members came over to buy the products displayed. Students interacted by quoting the price and collecting the money which was then put away in their money boxes.

They used terms like Google Pay and PayTM as a mode of payment if cash was not available. Visiting cards were also made which they handed over to their happy customers for future reference.

It was a fun event where the students had a great time selling their products, learning new vocabulary words, also developed their social skills when dealing with their customers.

The seeds have been sowed in their young minds to become successful entrepreneurs one day.
